Detectives alert over Rohingya

Staff Correspondent: Intelligence Agencies of Bangladesh are increasing their surveillances to prevent political violence over Rohingya issue, militant activities and any type of instability in the country.
Alongside, the detectives are also alert over Rohingya people, who fled to Bangladesh from Rakhaine State of Myanmar after being oppressed there by the government, so that they cannot be involved in any kind of insurgency.
Monirul Islam, Additional Commissioner (AC) of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) and Chief of Counter Terrorism and Transnational Crimes (CTTC) unit, told reporters that they are looking for if anyone is trying to operate insurgency over Rohingya issue. Because, vested quarter may create instability in the country and oppressed militants may be active again taking advantages from the issue.
"The government is sympathetic to them on humanitarian ground. But our aim is to protect them from being used in militancy by vested quarter. We are also alert so that the militants cannot be revived," he added.
Earlier, Counter Terrorism unit arrested two members of Neo-JMB from the capital's Nikunja and Khilkhet areas on Friday night.
They were identified as Nayeem Ahmed alias Anas and Abu Hamza alias Arisha Kuniya and Anowar Hossain.
Law enforcers also seized 30 detonators and some books over extremist ideology.
Monirul said about the militants, "They both are active members of Neo-JMB. Nayeem worked with one Basharuzzaman alias Chocolate in a none-government IT Company in 2015. Both of them joined the Neo-JMB together.
Meanwhile, Anowar is owner of a motor garage at Hemayetpur in Savar, the outskirts of the capital. He was invited to the militant outfit from a so-called master. Sarowar Jahan Manik, Ripon, Noman, Al-Bani and Don of Neo-JMB maintained contacts with him. With the suggestion of Neo-JMB top leaders, he arranged training activities at his garage to carry out car attacks, he added.
