Shakib becomes ACC goodwill envoy

Staff Correspondent: World number one all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan has become goodwill ambassador of Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) to campaign against corruption.

The anti-graft body appointed Shakib as its goodwill ambassador in a bid to build a corruption-free country on Monday.

On this occasion, Shakib was accepted with giving crest and flower in a function at the ACC’s office at Segun Bagicha in Dhaka.

During the programme, ACC Chairman Iqbal Mahmud said, “It’s high time for you [Shakib] to give something to the country’s youths. It will be a great achievement if 10 youths are encouraged to lead an honest life from you”.

"We are honestly working together to curb and prevent corruption. You have taken Bangladesh to a new height and established the country in the higher seat of honour and dignity in the world. We are really proud of you for this," he said.

While speaking at the programme, Shakib vowed to work for making the country a “role model” in the world by curbing corruption.
