Kader Siddiqui summoned in Home Minister defamation case

DHAKA, July 29: A Dhaka court has issued a summon against Bangabir Kader Siddiqui Bir Uttam in a case relating to terming Home Minister Dr Muhiuddin Khan Alamgir as a Razakar.
One Ruhul Amin Mazumder filed the defamation case with the court.
Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Alamgir Kabir Raj issued the summon on Sunday as Kader Siddiqui did not appear before the court on two consecutive hearings in connection with the case.
It may be mentioned that Ruhul Amin Mazumder, general secretary of National FF Foundation and a resident of 7/8 Free School Street Road, Hatirpul under Dhanmondi, filed the case with the CMM Court on February 19 last against Kader Siddiqui on behalf of the Home Minister.
The complainant mentioned in the case that on February 9 Kader Siddiqui told at Krishak-Sramik-Janata League conference at Engineers Institution Auditorium that `trial of war criminals was not possible keeping Razakar Home Minister in power,` which was published in different media on the following day.
It was mentioned in the case that Mohiuddin Khan Alamgir was not only a Home Minister of the government, but also the former president of Bangladesh Economic Association and a noted author of South East Asia.
It was further said that though Mohiuddin Khan Alamgir`s family members did not take part in the libertaion war directly, his participation in every activity of the liberation war was proved to the nation.
Besides, Dr Mohiuddin Khan Alamgir incurred Tk 2 crore of losses for terming him as a Razakar.
