Chief justice returns home

Staff Correspondent: Chief Justice (CJ) Surendra Kumar Sinha returned to Dhaka after wrapping up his visit to Canada and Japan.

The chief justice arrived at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in the capital in a flight of Singapore Airlines at around 11:00pm on Saturday (September 23), leaving Japan.

Earlier on September 8, the chief justice left Dhaka for Canada to visit his ailing daughter there.

The CJ on September 18 flew to Japan to attend a conference of chief justices of Asia and the Pacific.

Justice Md. Abdul Wahhab Miah, a senior judge of the Appellate Division, served the duties of CJ in the time of his absence.

The chief justice was accompanied by her wife Sushma Sinha and Appellate Division Registrar Md. Jakir Hossain as his entourage during the scheduled visit.
