Metro rail to be visible within six months: Obaidul

Staff Correspondent: Road Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader said that one of the important projects of the government Metro Rail will become visible within next six months.

The Minister made the opinion while addressing newsmen after visiting construction work of metro rail project in Dhaka’s Uttara, on Wednesday noon.

He said that with a view to build speedy, cheap and safe transport system in Dhaka metropolitan, the project was launched.

He also said Japan is helping Bangladesh implement this project, which is expected to be completed by 2024 at an estimated cost of Tk21,985 crore.

Meanwhile, regarding the Jamaat-convened countrywide hartal, Obaidul Quader told media that Jamaat will be given a harsh reply if they do any violence in the name of hartal.
