Mother-son murder: Main accused Jony held

Staff Correspondent: RAB has arrested Al Amin Jony, the main accused in the murders of a mother and her son simultaneously in the capital’s Kakrail area.

Members of RAB-3 arrested him from Gopalganj on Friday midnight.

Senior Assistant Director of RAB’s legal and media wing Mizanur Rahman Bhuiyan told this to journalists on Saturday noon.

Ashraf Ali, a brother of slain Shamsunnahar, filed a case in this regard with Ramna Police Station Thursday night.

Ramna Model Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Kazi Mainul Islam said that some unnamed people including Abdul Karim, the husband, Karim’s second wife Sharmin Mukta and Mukta’s brother Jony.

Karim and Mukta were detained earlier.

However, Karim’s first wife Shamsunnar and son Shaon were found slaughtered at their residence in Kakrail on Wednesday evening.
