Rangpur city polls Dec 21

Staff Correspondent: The schedule for Rangpur City Corporation (RCC) elections has been announced. The elections will be held on December 21.

Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) KM Nurul Huda announced the schedule on Sunday noon.

According to the election schedule, November 22 has been set as the last date for submitting nomination papers and November 25 and 26 for scrutinizing the submitted nomination papers.

Appeal can be filed against the scrutiny of the nomination papers from November 27 to 29 and can be settled from November 30 till December 2, the election schedule said.

The election schedule said December 3 has been set as the last date for withdrawing candidacy and December 4 for allocating electoral symbols.

Electronic Voting Machine (EVM) will be used in the RCC elections and CCTV cameras will be installed at important polling centres in the Rangpur city areas, the CEC said.
