ACC catches Waqf official while taking bribe

Staff Correspondent: Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) caught a Waqf official, an Islam-based government-run social welfare institution, red-handed while taking bribe on Sunday.
The detainee is identified as Motahar Hossain, an assistant director of the institution.
Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) Public Relations Officer Pranab Kumar Bhattacharya confirmed the matter to risingbd.com.
ACC said that an ACC team, led by its director Nasim Anwar, detained Md Motahar Hossain Khan from New Iskaton road in the capital this noon. He was caught receiving Tk 50,000 as bribe from a client at the office.
Meanwhile, the ACC team also seized Tk 79,000 from his possession.
Following the issue, Dhaka-1 ACC deputy assistant director Md Nazim Uddin filed a case against Motahar Hossain with Ramna Police Station.
