3 businesses grilled over embezzlement

Staff Correspondent: The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) has interrogated owners of three business firms to investigate into the allegations of misappropriating a huge amount of money from the Civil Aviation Authority of Bangladesh (Caab) through irregularity and corruption.
Mir Mohammad Zainul Abedin Shibli, deputy director of the commission, interrogated them from 11:00am to 5:00pm on Monday at the ACC head office in the capital.
ACC Public Relations Officer Pranab Kumar Bhattacharya told this to risingbd.com.
Those who have been interrogated are-- Sagir Ahmed, owner of M/S Sagir Ahmed Enterprise, Md Delwar Hossain, owner of M/S. Noman Enterprise and Md Abdul hamid, owner of M/S National Traders.
The commission yesterday interrogated owners of five other business firms on the same allegation.
Md Mainul Islam Chowdhury, owner of M/S Chowdhury Trade International, Md Iqbal Hossain, owner of M/S S. Alam & Sons, Md Abdul Aziz, owner of M/S Fair Enterprise, Mostafizur Rahman (Segun), owner of M/S Provati Enterprise and Md Abdul Malek, owner of M/S Nahid Enterprise were interrogated yesterday.
Earlier on October 28, the anti-graft body summoned owners of eight business firms with documents to investigate into the allegations of misappropriating a huge amount of money from the Civil Aviation Authority of Bangladesh (Caab) through irregularity and corruption.
