HC rejects MP Rana's revision petition 

Staff Correspondent: The High Court (HC) has rejected a revision petition filed by lawmaker Amanur Rahman Khan Rana seeking dismissal of charge framing in freedom fighter Faruk Ahmed murder case.

The bench of Justice Md Shawkat Hossain and Justice Md Nazrul Islam Talukder on Tuesday dismissed it, saying "the petition was not presented".

Advocate Hedayet Kabir Khan moved for Rana while deputy attorney general Zahid Sarwar Kajol represented the state in the court.

Earlier on October 29, the ruling party lawmaker Rana filed the petition with HC seeking cancellation of charge framing.

A Tangail court framed charges against Rana in the case on September 6. He is currently in the jail.

Faruk, the then AL publicity secretary of Tangail district unit, was shot dead on the night of January 18, 2013.
