Staff Correspondent: Senior journalist and columnist Taiyabur Rahman passed away at a hospital in Rangpur on Wednesday afternoon.
He was 58.
Marufur Rahman, Chief of Rangpur Medical College Hospital Burn unit said that Taiyabur Rahman was admitted to the hospital on Tuesday noon. Lower part of his body was burnt.
Tahmidur Rahman Shahin, younger brother of Taiyabur Rahman said that the journalist lost his talking power following a brain stroke three months ago. On Tuesday, he was taking rest on a chair after taking shower. Meanwhile, a fire from a burning mosquito coil injured him.
Later, he was rushed to Rangpur Medical College Hospital where he died under treatment.
The veteran journalist started his career from the daily Azad. Later, he worked in the daily Prothomalo, the daily Janakantho, BDnews24, the daily Manabkandho, the daily Bartoman and online news portal risingbd.com.
