Banani Murder: Main planner held

Staff Correspondent: Detective Branch (north division) of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) detained Helal, main planner of Banani businessman Siddique Hossain Munshi.

Sources said that the law enforcers detained him around 11:30pm on Tuesday. Meanwhile, five fire arms were recovered from the spot.

DMP spokesperson Md Masudur Rahman said that acting on a tip-off, the detectives detained the accused from Kalachandpur area of Gulshan in the capital.

Details will be disclosed later through press conference, he added.

On November 14, miscreants entered the office of Munshi Overseas on the ground floor of a four-storey building on Road-4 of Banani and opened fire aiming the businessman, leaving him dead and three others bullet injured.

Later, victim's wife Josna Begum filed a murder case with Banani police station.

Police identified the four assailants checking footage of closed circuit television cameras (CCTVs) in the building.
