Ex-envoy Maroof Zaman remains missing

Staff Correspondent: Former Bangladesh ambassador to Vietnam Maroof Zaman has reportedly been remained missing yet.

He left his Dhanmondi home in his private car to pick up his daughter from Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in Dhaka on Monday night.

Dhanmondi Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Abdul Latif told risingbd.com that the law enforcers are trying to rescue Maroof Zaman. The vehicle which he used was recovered from Khilkhet 300 Feet Road on Tuesday evening.

Earlier, the victim's daughter Samiha Jaman filed a general diary (GD) with Dhanmondi police station.

Rifat Zaman, the ex-diplomat's brother, said, “Around 7:30pm, his borther (Maroof Zaman) phoned at his house and told the house help to allow a person to take away his laptop.”

Later, three well-dressed entered his home and took away his laptop, desktop and camera, he added.
