He said this while replying to a query in the parliament on Thursday.
The Minister said supplying gas to every sector including fertilizer factory if the gas shortage can be solved. It cannot be possible to supply gas to several power plants and five fertilizer factories as demand has increased in industries, electricity and residential sectors.
However, the three fertilizer factories (Shahjalal, Kafco and Jamuna) of high capabilities are getting gas regularly. Alongside the attempt of increasing gas production, activities for importing LNG are going ahead to meet the excessive demand, the minister added.
