Staff Correspondent: The rally organized by Awami League at historical Suhrawardy Udyan marking the historic March 7 has begun.
The rally began around 2.30pm.
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is scheduled to address the rally.
Earlier from the morning, the leaders and activists of ruling Awami League were heading towards historical Suhrawardy Udyan to attend the rally.
Thousands of people entered the programme venue through various entry points including Dhaka University area, Shahbagh, Nilkhet and Doyel Chattar.
This year the nation is remembering the 'red-letter day' in the country's history with much enthusiasm, fanfare and pride as the historical speech delivered on this day in 1971 by the architect of the country's independence has got a prestigious place in the world's documentary heritage.
