Child missing after falling in city canal

Staff Correspondent: A five-year old child has been missing after he fell in a canal of the capital’s Mohammadpur area. A team of Fire Service and Civil Defence has started rescue drive in the canal of Nobodoy Housing area.

The child was known as Jisan, son of Hasu Mia who lives along with his family at House-10, Road-8 of Nobodoy Housing.

Jisan fell in the canal while he was playing on a culvert near Nobodoy bazar on Friday afternoon.

Being informed, a team of Fire Service and Civil Defence rushed to the spot and started rescue drive in the canal.

Jisan was missing while the report was filed around 8:30pm on Friday.

Ataur Rahman, dury officer of Fire Service, confirmed the news.
