Demonstrating students to sit with govt

Staff Correspondent: The students who are continuing their demonstration to press home the demand of reforming the existing quota system in civil service are going to sit with the government today afternoon.

A 20-member delegation of the agitating students is on the way to the  Bangladesh Secretariat to hold a meeting with Awami League General Secretary and Road Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader.

Hasan Al Mamun, coordinator of protesting platform Bangladesh General Students’ Rights Protection Forum, told reporters around 2:30pm on Monday.

In thousands, they have gathered all across the campus, seemingly waiting for a meeting with a top official of the government and the ruling party before going for further agitation.

Besides, the protests have spread out to further corners of the country including Chittagong University, Jahangirnagar University, Rajshahi University, and Shahjalal University.
