Arm losing Ridoy: Truck driver held

Gopalganj Correspondent: The truck driver has been  held in connection with a case filed over an incident in which Khalid Hasan Ridoy lost one of his hands after a collision between a bus and a truck in the district.

Police held the truck driver, Zakir Hossain (28), from Katakhali in Bagerhat district on Tuesday night.

Zakir Hossain is the son of the late Nuru Sharif at West Kakai village under Shibchar thana of Madaripur district.

Khalid Hasan Ridoy, 20, a transport worker, lost his hand when his bus collided with a truck coming from the opposite direction at Betgram bus stand in Gopalganj Tuesday morning.

The accident takes place at a time when people have been mourning for Rajib Hossain, who lost his hand in a collision between two buses in Karwan Bazar of Dhaka and died early Tuesday.

Transport worker Ridoy was first taken to Gopalganj General Hospital and then shifted to National Institute of Traumatology & Orthopaedic Rehabilitaion (NITOR), Dhaka.
