Gazipur city polls postponed

Staff Correspondent: The High Court has stayed the upcoming polls for the Gazipur City Corporation for three months.
The High Court bench of Justice Naima Haydar and Justice Zafar Ahmed passed the order on Sunday noon.
The order came after the following the writ petition of Shimulia union parishad chairman ABM Azharul Islam.
Lawyer GM Ilias Kochi moved for the petitioner while Deputy Attorney General Md Mokhlesur Rahman stood for the state during hearing in the case.
Gazipur city corporation polls were slated to be held on 15 May along with the Khulna city election.
