Imran H Sarker arrested

Staff Correspondent: Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) has arrested Gonojagoron Mancha spokesperson Imran H Sarker.

RAB-3 arrested him from a programme at Shahbag in the capital around 4:30pm on Wednesday.

Mufti Mahmud Khan, director of RAB (media) confirmed the news to risingbd.

He said, “Gonojagoron Mancha on Wednesday afternoon started a rally at Shahbag in protest of ‘extra judicial killings’ in the nationwide anti-drug drive. But they did not get permission to hold the rally. They were asked to move from there. Later, Imran was arrested as they did not move.”

Some members of Gonojagoron Mancha who attended the rally said when Imran and his supporters were gathering in front of the National Museum for holding a rally in the afternoon protesting the killings in the ongoing anti-drug drive, Rab members picked him up, dragged him into their van and dispersed his supporters.
