PM urges students to go back to classes

Desk Report: Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has urged the teachers and guardians to take steps to return students to classrooms.

The Prime Minister made the call while addressing the inaugural function of optical fiber connectivity in 300 union parishads of 10 districts from Ganabhaban on Sunday morning.

Calling guardians and teachers to bring back the protesting students from streets, Sheikh Hasina said, “Enough movement has been done, now its time to go home and focus on study. I am worried for the safety of the children and don’t want them get hurt on street. I know the pain of losing closed ones. I am calling guardians to step in and take back their kids to home.”

The premier also advised everyone to learn and obey traffic rules in order to minimize road crashes.   

Urging people to use technology in constructive works and public welfare, Sheikh Hasina also said not to pay attention to rumor and misled by rumor.

"A vested quarter is trying to create an unstable situation in the country through false propaganda. Please don't pay heed to any rumor and don't get confused by any propaganda," she said.

"Whatever you see or hear, verify those at first, please don't believe anything without verification, especially I will request the school students and youth folks," she said.

The 10 districts where 300 unions were brought under fiber connectivity are Kurigram, Nilphamari, Bagura, Netrakona, Habiganj, Patuakhali, Gazipur, Narayanganj, Rajshahi and Chandpur.

Posts, Telecommunications and Information Technology Minister Mustafa Jabbar and State Minister for Information and Communication Technology Division Zunaid Ahmed Palak also spoke at the programme.
