Staff Correspondent: The Cyber Crime Division of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) has arrested three people on charge of spreading rumors on social networking sites, during the students’ protest for safer roads.
The detainees are- Mahbubur Rahman Arman 30, Alamgir Hossain, 27 and Saidul Islam 31.
The law enforcers detained them from various parts of the capital in a special drive on Sunday midnight. Meanwhile mobile phones, laptop, memory card and Facebook password and Group IDs were recovered from them.
DMP Cyber Crime Division Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) Najmul Islam has confirmed the matter.
Najmul Islam said the detainees played a role to spread violence sharing several posts and making Facebook Live.
The three people were shown arrest under cyber act case filed at Ramna Police Station, he added.
