Huge crowd at Kamalapur to collect tickets

Staff Correspondent: A huge crowd of people gathered at Kamalapur railway station from early Friday to fetch train tickets for going home to celebrate Eid ul-Azha to avoid the tiresome traffic congestion on highways.

During visit on Friday it was seen that Bangladesh Railways continued it’s selling advance tickets of train service for August 19.

However, many people spent whole night at the railway station to get their tickets. The entire stations were found packed with ticket seekers by the morning.

Queues before the ticket counters for northern districts were relatively longer than others.
Each passenger is being allowed to procure maximum four tickets and tickets sold earlier are not being returned, sources said.

Keeping Eid festival in mind, railway started the sale of advance ticket on August 8.
The advance ticket of 20 and 21 will be available on August 11 and 12 respectively.

Besides, the return tickets for the journey of August 24 will be available on August 15 and for August 25 on August 16, August 26 on August 17, August 27 on August 18 and for August 28 on August 19.
