Crowds at Kamalapur increase ahead of Eid rush

Staff Correspondent: A huge crowd of people gathered at Kamalapur railway station to fetch train tickets for going home to celebrate Eid ul-Azha.

Advance tickets of inter-city trains scheduled for August 21 are being sold from Sunday at 8:00am.

The Kamalapur station witnessed the highest-ever crowd today. Eid-ul-Azha is likely to be celebrated on August 22. According to the date calculation, more people would leave the capital on August 21.

Many people spent whole night at the railway station to get their tickets. The entire stations were found packed with ticket seekers by the morning.

Kamrul, a ticket-seeker said that he went to the train station on Saturday noon and got his desired ticket this morning.

Keeping Eid festival in mind, railway started the sale of advance ticket on August 8.

The return tickets for the journey of August 24 will be available on August 15 and for August 25 on August 16, August 26 on August 17, August 27 on August 18 and for August 28 on August 19.

Following ticket sale issue, Station Manager Sitangshu Chakraborty of Kamalapur Railway Station said long queues were seen in front of all the counters of the station.
