Akifa murder: Ganjeraj Paribahan owner arrested

Faridpur Correspondent: Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) personnel arrested the owner of Faisal Ganjeraj Paribahan over the murder of one-year-old girl Akifa Khatun.

The detainee is identified as Jaynal Abedin, 63.

Company Commander Additional Police Supper Md Roich Uddin of Faridpur RAB-8 said the law enforcers conducted a drive in Jhiltuli area under Katwali police station of Faridpur around 5:30am on Sunday. Later, the accused was arrested from his residence.

On August 28, Akifa, daughter of Harunur Rashid received injuries after she fell from her mother Rina Akter’s lap when a bus hit the mother in the town. Later, the baby girl died at Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) on August 30.

Later, victim's father Harun-or-Rashid filed a case with Kushtia Sadar police station.
