39 projects approved in ECNEC meeting

Staff Correspondent: The Executive Committee of the National Economic Council (ECNEC) on Sunday approved 39 projects involving an overall cost of Tk 86,686.95 crore.

The approval was given at the weekly ECNEC meeting held at NEC conference room here with ECNEC Chairperson and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina in the chair.

Planning Minister AHM Mustafa Kamal briefed reporters after the meeting.

Briefing the reporters after the meeting, the planning minister said, "A total of 40 projects were placed in the today's ECNEC meeting. But ECNEC approved 39 projects involving an overall cost of Tk 86,686.95 crore."

Of the total estimated cost, Tk 66,466.51 crore will come from the national exchequer, while Tk 19,907.23 crore as project assistance and Tk 313.21 crore from the own funds of the organisations concerned.
