Two held with firearms in Chattogram

Staff Correspondent, Chattogram: Police in a special drive arrested two muggers with firearms and five rounds of ammunitions from Mariners’ road under Kotwali thana of the port city on Wednesday morning.

The detainees are- Kala Masud, 27, Jummon Driver, 22.

Confirming the matter, Kotwali police station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Md Mahsin told risingbd.com that on information, a team of police conducted drive in the area this morning. Meanwhile, sensing presence of police, the muggers opened fire aiming police. In reply, police also opened fire. At one stage, police detained the duo.

A pistol, five round of bullets, two knives and a musk were recovered from the spot.
