Workers withdraw blockade of highway in Bangabandhu Bridge

Staff Correspondent, Tangail: The transport workers have withdrawn the blockade of Dhaka-Tangail highway in Bangabandhu Bridge after two hours.

The workers removed their blockade when the authority declared that the accused policeman was withdrawn. 

Later, the movement of transports was resumed after 9:45am.

Workers alleged that Sub Inspector of Bangabandhu Bridge East Thana Nure Alam beat up a truck driver after he refused to give ransom this morning. Protesting the beating up of the truck driver, transport workers stopped the movement of vehicles around 8:00am.

District additional police super Md. Shariful Haque rushed to the spot and talked to the transport workers.
