Drug trader killed in Teknaf gunfight

Cox’s Bazar Correspondent: A drug trader was killed a gunfight with police in Dargapara Kabsthan area of Hinla union under Teknaf upazila of Cox’s Bazar on Saturday morning.
The deceased was identified as Ziaul Bashir Shahin, 32, son of Syed Ahmed, hailed from West Sikdarpara area of the upazila.
Teknaf police station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Prodip Kumar Das said acting on tip off, a police team conducted a drive and arrested the drug trader. Later, following his, information, police went to the spot to recover fire arms. Meanwhile, the cohorts of Shahin opened fire aiming police which triggered the gunfight, leaving him bullet injured.
Later, he was sent to Cox’s Bazar Sadar hospital where duty doctor declared him dead.
Three local guns, 15,000 pieces of Yaba tablets, 18 rounds of bullets and 13 bullet cases were recovered from the spot.
