Cleaning campaign begins at Gulshan Lake

Staff Correspondent: Gulshan Society, the organisation of the residents of the upscale neighbourhood in Dhaka, has launched 10-day long cleaning campaign to save Gulshan Lake from pollution.

According to the memorandum of understanding (MoU) between Rajdhani Unnayan Kartripakkha (RAJUK) and Gulshan Society, the cleaning campaign started this morning.

A rally was organized at Shaheed Fazle Rabbi Park at 10:00am in this regard. Meanwhile, the speakers in the programme spoke against the illegal possession of Gulshan Lake and demanded disconnection of sewerage lines in the lake.   

Gulshan Society president Sakhawat Abu Khair Mohammed, secretary general Barrister Shukla Sarwat Siraj delivered their speech on the occasion.

Eva Rahman, Chief of Gulshan Society Lake committee, vice-president of the organization professor Dr M A Hashem, Maheen Khan and others attended the function.
