Australia releases stamps on Bangabandhu, Sheikh Hasina

Secretariat Correspondent: Australia Post has published two separate stamps on Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, Father of the Nation of Bangladesh, and his daughter Sheikh Hasina, Prime Minister of the country.

The stamps contained images of Bangabandhu and Sheikha.

The retail price for each stamp has been calculated as one Australian dollar.

Sources of Foreign Affairs Ministry confirmed the news on Sunday.

According to the sources, the special postage stamps were published under the 'Personalised Stamp Offer' programme of the Australia Post.

Designs of the stamps were officially released in a programme in Sydney in the last week of September. Since the stamps are available in certain post stores of Australia Post.

The stamps were published after a frantic official efforts of four months. Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) of Bangladesh assisted to the imitative.

Mentionable, Australia gave recognition to the independence of Bangladesh on January 26, 1972.
