Staff Correspondent: The nation is remembering the poignant memory of November 12 today when a devastating cyclone hit the coastal belt of the country killing over one million people in 1970.
The cyclone at a record speed of 240 kilometre per hour lashed 18 coastal districts.
The five districts– Patuakhali, Barguna, Chittagong, Noakhali and Laxmipur, were worst hit by the natural calamity.
To mark the tragic day in the country’s history, various organisations in different districts have organised different programs on November 12 tragedy.
