Order on Khaleda’s writ Thursday

Staff Correspondent: The High Court (HC) will pass an order on a writ petition filed for challenging the legality to send BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia back to jail after release from Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University (BSMMU).

The HC bench of Justice Sheikh Hasan Arif and Justice Rajik Al Jalil on Tuesday fixed the date for passing the order after concluding hearing on the writ petition.

Advocate AJ Mohammad Ali stood for Khaleda Zia while Additional Attorney General Murad Reza represented the state during the hearing in the court.

Earlier on November 11, Khaleda Zia submitted the writ petition though her lawyer Barrister Nawshad Jamir also praying to the HC to order the government to send her to a specialized hospital for treatment.

The BNP chief was taken to old central jail directly from the BSMMU and produced before a special court there in Niko graft case on November 8.

Khaleda was released from the BSMMU after the medical board formed for her treatment gave her discharge certificate.
