EC asks police to bar showdown of nomination papers

Staff Correspondent: The Election Commission (EC) has asked police to take steps to prevent all types of processions and showdown while collecting, submitting nomination papers at party offices and offices of returning officers..
A letter in this regard signed by EC joint secretary of polls management division was sent to Inspector General of Police (IGP) on Tuesday.
EC asked IGP to take proper steps to ensure election code of conduct.
Nomination papers could be submitted to EC till November 28.
