Oishee sent to correctional centre

DHAKA, Aug 24: Oishee Rahman, daughter of slain Special Branch Inspector Mahfuzur Rahman and his wife Shapna Rahman, and their maid Sumi were sent to Gazipur juvenile correctional centre on Saturday evening.

Dhaka Central Jail authority sent them to Gazipur juvenile correctional centre after receiving a Dhaka court order. Metropolitan Magistrate Anwar Sadat made the order for giving confessional statements under the section 164 before the court in the afternoon.

 

Oishee in her confessional statement said, “I myself stabbed my parents to death”. In her confessional statement she also told the court that before the killing she had fed 60 sleeping pills to her parents.

 

Assistant Commissioner of Detective Branch Jewel Rana produced seventeen-year-old Oishee and two other suspects Mizanur Rahman Rony, a friend of Oishee, and Khadiza Khatun Sumi before a Dhaka court after completion of their five-day remand on Saturday.

 

SB inspector Mahfuzur Rahman, 48, and his wife Swapna Rahman, 40, were found dead in their Chamelibagh flat on August 16.

 

Oishee, an O` Level student of Oxford International School at Dhanmondi, went into hiding since her parents were found murdered.

 

Later, she surrendered to the Paltan Police Station early afternoon on August 17.
