Health Ministry forms panel to probe death of Raifa

Secretariat Correspondent: Ministry of Health and Family Welfare has formed a four-member probe committee to investigate into the death of three-year-old Raifa Khan at Max Hospital in the city due to wrong treatment.

The newly formed special committee will start their tasks from today.

Health service department joint secretary Saifullahil Azam, was made chief of the Probe body. The three members include- a representative of BMDC, health decorate and a civil surgeon of Chattogram.

Ministry sources said that the victim’s Rubel Khan, Max Hospital Managing director Dr Liakat Ali Khan, Dr Bidhan Roy Chowdhury, Dr Debashis Sen Gupta and Dr Shuvra Deb were asked to attend at Chattogram Circuit House.

On June 28, three year old kid Raifa died at the hospital. The family and organisations of journalists alleged that the baby girl died of wrong treatment and negligence by physicians at the hospital.
