‘Zero tolerance against drugs and militancy’

Secretariat Correspondent: Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan has said that this time our main challenge is to remain in zero tolerance policy against drugs and militancy. We did not give space to wake up militancy in past and will not give in future too.

The Home Boss told this to the reporters at the Secretariat on Tuesday, on the very first day of retaking charges of the ministry.

Kamal said, “We want to be very tough against drugs. Zero tolerance policy will be upheld like earlier. Drugs must be driven away from the society at any cost.”

He said, “Law enforcement agencies are working to curb terrorism with a great efficiency. They are very much prepared to face challenges to keep the law and order situation under control.”

In reply to a query, he said, “If BNP wants to hold any demonstration and movement, they can do it as it is a democratic right for the political parties. But if they plot to commit sabotage in name of the movement, it must be oppressed.”
