Amended ICT bill to be sent to cabinet: Law Minister

Senior Correspondent: Law Minister Anisul Huq said that the amended International Crimes Tribunal bill will be sent to the cabinet for trying Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami as a party involved in war crimes.

The Minister told this to the reporters at the Secretariat on Wednesday noon.

Different organisations greeted Anisul Huq when he came to his secretariat office on Wednesday morning, the second day of his retaking offices of the ministry. Later, he faced media.

The Minister said, “We earlier sent the amended bill of International Crimes Tribunal to the cabinet. But the cabinet division returned that asking to amend legislative language further. Now the bill is at our hand. We, with the instruction of PM, will try to send the bill to the cabinet as early as possible.”
