RMG workers' protest continues for 5th day

Staff Correspondent: Read-made garment (RMG) industry workers blocked roads in several areas of the capital for the fifth consecutive day on Thursday.
Following their blockade in streets, transport movement in various areas were seen stopped from this morning.
Pallabi police station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Nazrul Islam said, “The garment workers took position in the main street at Shewrapara of Mirpur this morning. We are trying to remove them from the streets. Additional police forces have been deployed in the area to bring the situation under control.”
The agitated workers said that the factory owners don’t follow the government fixed pay scale. Even, many owners do not pay the wage in time.
The Mirpur-Airport road was blocked due to the worker protest, causing untold sufferings to thousands of people.
