Legal notice to send Oishee back to jail

DHAKA, Aug 27: A legal notice has been issued asking Oishee Rahman, accused for murdering her parents SB Inspector Mahfuzur Rahman and Swapna Begum, to be transferred to prison from a correctional home where she is currently being held.
Supreme Court lawyer Yunus Ali Akhand sent the notice.
The notice said that according to Oishee’s birth certificate she is 19 years old. The new Children’s Right Law is not applicable for Oishee because it was set in motion after Oishee’s case was filed on August 21.
The lawyer has demanded that Oishee be sent to the jail as she is over 16 years of age.
The notice has been sent to the Home Secretary, DG of Police, DMP Commissioner, Deputy Commission of DB, DMP Magistrate, OC of Paltan Police Station, Investigating officer of the case and the National Juvenile Rectification Centre at Tongi.
The notice said the order to send Oishee to a juvenile correctional home must be withdrawn and the accused be sent to prison within 24 hours.
Or else Akhand says he will be compelled file a writ petition in High Court.
SB inspector Mahfuzur Rahman, 48, and his wife Swapna Rahman, 40, were found dead in their Chamelibagh flat on August 16.
Oishee, an O` Level student of Oxford International School at Dhanmondi, went into hiding since her parents were found murdered.
Later, she surrendered to the Paltan Police Station early afternoon on August 17.
