‘Arranging Trade Fair at Purbachal impossible’

Economic Correspondent: Commerce Minister Tipu Munshi said that it is impossible to arrange Dhaka International Trade Fair (DITF) at Purbachal as a huge number of buyers and visitors are increasing every year.
The Minister said this while speaking at the closing ceremony of DITF on Saturday noon.
Commerce Minister said, “Arranging such a large Trade Fair at Purbachal is not possible due to lack of land shortage. Here (at Sher-e-Bangla Nagar) is a premises of 36 acres, the venue of Purbachal is not so large.”
He said, “Bangladesh companies got nearly 200 crore export orders in the current Trade Fair which was 165.96 crore in last year.”
