Fire guts 100 shanties in Chattogram

Staff Correspondent, Chattogram: A devastating fire burnt down more than 100 shanties in Roufabad area under Bayezid Bostami thana in Chattogram on Saturday night.
On information, nine firefighting units rushed to the spot and extinguished the blaze after four hours of frantic efforts.
Chattogram Fire Service Division Director Jashim Uddin said some 109 shanties were gutted in the slum.
No injury was reported from the incident, he added.
The reason behind the fire could not be known immediately.
