Boat capsizes in Buriganga, 6 missing

Staff Correspondent: Six members of a family went missing as a boat capsized in the Buriganga River in the city's Sadarghat area on Thursday night.

Abdur Razzak, officer-in-charge of Sadarghat River Police Station, said the boat sank near the Sadarghat Launch Terminal around 10:15pm.

They were residing in Kamrangirchar area of the city and going to the launch terminal to go to their home in Shariatpur district.

One Shahjahan was rescued after the boat capsize and he has been sent to hospital. He has lost two legs.

Two teams of divers from Fire Service and Civil Defence are trying to rescue the victims.
