BNP use religion to grab power: Info Minister

Senior Correspondent: Information Minister Dr. Hasan Mahmud has said BNP used the religion as a tool to grab state power. Still, they are doing the same. They try to misguide pious people of Bangladesh using religion.

The minister said this while addressing a programme on the occasion of 5th founding anniversary celebration of Bangladesh United Islami Party (BUIP) at Suhrawardy Udyan in Dhaka on Friday.

Hasan Mahmud said, “BNP-Jamaat did nothing for Alim society. Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina have taken all necessary steps for Islam.”

“Bangabandhu’s daughter Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is working relentlessly for the welfare of Islam. She established the Islamic Arabic University which was a hundred-year-old demand of the Alem society. The government also recognized the certificate of Kowmi madrasha. Now the students of the madrashas are getting jobs,” he said.

The Chairman of the organization Maulana Ismail presided over the programme where Dhaka Metropolitan Awami Legaue general secretary Shahe Alam Murad, publicity secretary Aktar Hossain and others spoke on the occasion.
