Obaidul Quader to be shifted to cabin from ICU

Senior Correspondent: Awami League (AL) general secretary Obaidul Quader will be shifted to cabin within one or two days from the intensive care unit (ICU) at Mount Elizabeth Hospital in Singapore as his condition is improving. 

Dr Abu Nasar Rizvi, neurologist and director of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University confirmed the matter.

Earlier this morning, Cardiothoracic Surgeon Dr. Sibastan Kumar Sami briefed reporters about the latest update regarding health condition of Obaidul Quader.

Md Abu Naser, deputy chief information officer of Road Transport and Highways Division, quoting Doctor Rizvi said, “Quader is not suffering from any neurological complications, his blood pressure is normal, and vital organs such as the heart and kidneys are functioning well.”

“Doctors plan to shift Quader from Intensive Care Unit (ICU) to a hospital cabin in the next couple of days,” he said.

The brief was attended by Quader’s wife Begum Isratunnessa Quader, younger brother Abdul Quader Mirza, Bangladesh High Commissioner to Singapore Mostafizur Rahman, Road Division Additional Secretary Md Belayet Hossain and medical coordinator Prof Dr Abu Nasar Rizvi.
