BCL wants re-election to post of DUCSU VP

Staff Correspondent: Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) is  demonstrating in front of the vice chancellor’s residence demanding re-election to the post of DUCSU vice-president.

BCL General Secretary and newly-elected General Secretary of DUCSU Golam Rabbani made the demand on Tuesday.

Ruling party’s front BCL is demonstrating in front of the vice chancellor’s residence from this morning, after quota reform leader Nurul Haque Nur was elected vice president of DUCSU in the elections held on Monday.

They burned two tyres near the VC residence, chanting slogans that the election was “a farce” and demanding re-election to the post of DUCSU VP.

“We cannot accept a Shibir man Nur as the VP of a prestigious institution like Dhaka University,” a BCL leader said.

He said, their demonstration will continue until their demands are met. “Nur was involved in attack on VC’s residence. He can’t be the VP of DUCSU.”
