Six fake customs officials put on remand

Staff Correspondent: A Dhaka court placed the six persons on one-day remand each in a case filed for allegedly impersonating themselves as customs officials and grabbing money from different people leaving them in traps.

Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Abu Sufian Md Noman passed order when Darussalam Police Station Sub-Inspector (SI) SM Alice Mahmud, also the investigation officer of the case, produced them before the court with five-day remand.

The remanded accused are Md Nurul Haque, 57, Md Sheikh Alam, 43, Md Firoz Alam, 57, Md Mosharraf Hosen, 54, Md Masud Rana, 43, and Md Renu Mia alias Roni, 38.

Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) in a drive arrested six fake persons from Mirpur area in the city on Tuesday night.
