Staff Correspondent: A court in Dhaka has granted seven days of remand to two sons of Wahed Mansion’s owner in a case started by a local resident over the deadly fire in Old Dhaka’s Chawkbazar.
Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Rajesh Chowdhury passed the order on Monday.
Earlier, Chawkbazar police station inspector Moradul Islam produced the accused before the court seeking 10 days remand.
On February 20, the devastating fire broke out at Old Dhaka’s Chawkbazar area, claiming the lives of 70 people. Later, a local dweller named Asif filed the case with Chawkbazar model police station against the two accused and 10/12 others.
