Fireman Sohel Rama’s body arrives in country

Senior Reporter: The body of fire fighter Sohel Rana, who was injured in Banani FR Tower blaze, arrived in Dhaka from Singapore on Monday night.

The body of Sohel Rana reached at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport by a flight of Singpore Airlines at around 10:40pm.

His body has been kept in the mortuary of Combined Military Hospital (CMH) for tonight and his first Namaz-e-Janaza will be held at Fire Service and Civil Defense Headquarter at 11am on Tuesday.

Later, Sohel’s body will be taken to his village home Itna in Kishoreganj.

Sohel Rana passed away on Monday morning at a Singapore General Hospital where he was undergoing treatment.

Earlier in the country, he was undergoing treatment in critical condition at Combined Military Hospital (CMH).

He was an incumbent fireman of Kurmitola Fire Service and Civil Defence.

Including Sohel, a total of 27 people were killed and around 70 others injured in the deadly fire incident on March 28 (Thursday).

The fire incident, at FR Tower in Banani, caused huge loss to life and property because of flouting the building code, faulty construction and lack of life saving equipment.
