Beef prices to be reduced if extortion stops

Staff Correspondent: Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC) Mayor Sayed Khokon said prices of beef will decrease if extortion in Gabtoli cattle market to be stopped. Police have already been informed over the extortion of Gabtoli.

The mayor said this after visiting Hatirjheel vegetable market in the capital on Thursday noon.

Sayed Khokon said, “We have manpower limitation. So, we are operating monitoring activities with limited manpower.”

He also said, “Not only fine, monitoring committee was asked to sentence jail terms for food adulteration.”
